Hi, my name is Axelrod!
Adult Medium Male
Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed
Looking for a loving and affectionate Prince Charming, but unwilling to kiss a toad? Axelrod is the guy for you! He wants nothing more than to be by your side and send candy coated gazes your way. Axel was found in September in South Dallas, 15-20 lbs underweight. For having such a rough start in life, he harbors zero grudges, loves everyone (old, young, big, small) equally and sees the world through the eyes of an innocent child. It was such a sight to watch him discover squeaky toys, car rides and stairs for the first time. He's wonderful with his foster’s family dog, and plants kisses on her face all day long. He does not, however, get along with cats.
For being two and a half, Axel is extremely mellow and the definition of a "chill dude." His foster has never seen him get the “zoomies”, and the only time he barks is in his sleep. He's gentle and quiet pretty much 24/7. He is not fond of crates, and will whine and scratch to get out. But, since he is not destructive and likes to lounge, his foster mom doesn’t see it necessary to crate him. Axelrod walks well and doesn't pull on the leash. He likes to sniff and wander, and he's extremely curious if he sees another dog. He's house trained and has had zero accidents in the house. Being food and treat motivated, Axel learned "sit", "down", and "wait" with ease. The next big act is "shake."
This sweet guy charms every person who meets him. A vet tech called him a "teddy bear", and it was so appropriate. He has never shown any object or food aggression, and just wants to shower you with love.
Axelrod is well on his way to a happy and healthy life! All he needs is a family! Apply to adopt him today!
