Ellen Ripley is named after the heroine of the movies “Alien”. She has overcome many battles, just like Ellen Ripley in the movie. Ripley was brought to the shelter WHILE IN ACTIVE LABOR!!!! She had already had 5 puppies, and she was surrendered with them, while giving birth. She ended up having a total of 11 puppies. While all the puppies were adopted from the shelter, momma Ripley waited and waited for her family….. sadly that never came. Fortunately, she was scooped up by a fabulous DPA foster while she waits for a home of her own.
With the weather so nice, Ellen Ripley is loving outside time with her foster family. She is a bundle of energy and enjoys enrichment chews and puzzles, and would enjoy a long walk in the evening. Ripley is great with other dogs around her size with an adorable play style! She tends to pick up and mimic the energy of the dog she is playing with!
Ripley’s love for toys knows no bounds, though some unfortunate ones don’t last beyond the next hour, or even the next day. Do squirrels count as toys? Ripley enjoys chasing small creatures that she considers to be toys so her foster mom walks her at night where most small creatures hopefully are in stealth mode.
