Hi all, meet this adorable little girl Ellie V. Ellie is a 4-year-old, 45-pound Pitbull. Don’t let the breed scare you because you will find her to be the friendliest dog out there.
Ellie had a rough history being a stray that had a litter a short time ago before being picked up and taken to Dallas Animal Shelter. There she was taken by a foster. I adopted Ellie a couple of weeks before Christmas the day before she was to be put down.
Ellie is a relatively calm girl who loves to be near you. Ellie is currently taking Fluoxetine to help with being left alone for 8 to 9 hours of the day while I’m at work. If she were able to be with people who are home more, I don’t think she’d need to take them. Ellie can match the energy of a puppy and go toe to toe with each other. hen she goes to daycare, the staff says her tail never stops wagging and neither does she.
She loves other dogs though she doesn’t understand social queues well enough and sometimes gets overexcited when playing. She sees my parents’ cat occasionally and is interested in meeting, though the cat is not.
Ellie likes to be outside and sit in the sun or be inside on the couch sitting next to her owner, putting some part of her body on him. An ideal home for Ellie would be one that could help match her energy, she needs to go on several walks, play outside with people, taken to dog parks often and would love it if someone was in the house most of the time.
Ellie is house-trained. She does go into her crate with a little bribery! She currently occupies the laundry room blocked off by a baby gate when her owner is away at work. Ellie does tend to pull on the leash when walking, particularly if there is another dog she sees or a rabbit but for the most part, she’s pretty good. She does love to go for rides but doesn’t really care to stick her head out the window. She loves peanut butter and her chew bones. She loves to sleep on the couch or on her side of her owner’s bed.
Ellie V is a perfect dog who deserves a family that can help her live a happy life!
