Meet Riot, your future snuggle companion and loyal sidekick! This charming 4.5-year-old hound mix is the perfect balance between couch potato and backyard adventurer. His interests include being your weighted blanket and playing fetch with tennis balls. With a weight of just under 40lbs, Riot is the ideal size for cuddles and playtime. His striking spots, irresistible floppy ears, and soulful dark brown eyes will capture your heart from the moment you meet him.

Originally hailing from Alabama, Riot embarked on a journey that led him to the bustling city of Chicago via a Rescue organization. He found his way into our hearts around his first birthday and later ventured down to the Lone Star State with us. Riot has been cherished and we had hoped he’d enjoy playing with a couple of new human siblings, but it turns out kiddos make him quite nervous. While he’s gentle and loving with them, their toddler antics, flailing limbs, and loud cries can be a bit overwhelming for him. Riot longs for peace and quiet, making it clear that he’d thrive in a tranquil, child-free environment.

In the right home, Riot is sure to shine. He prefers to be the center of attention as the only pet in the house. (He does not like dogs and his stance on cats remains a mystery.) Riot is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations, heartworm meds, and flea & tick meds. He’s not a fan of thunder, surprises, or lots of strangers in the home, but we’ve got some PRN meds to help him stay calm during storms and other noisy events.

Riot is crate-trained but would rather not be left alone for extended periods. He loves a good nap while you run some errands, but all-day separations make him a bit anxious. He’s housebroken, though he may need a bit of leash training since he tends to get excited and nervous around other dogs during walks. This clever boy already knows some basic commands and is eager to learn more. With a calm and predictable environment, Riot is bound to thrive and become your best friend. He comes from a loving family who cares for him deeply, and he’ll quickly warm up to anyone who appreciates his affection.
