DPA’s Pawsome People: February 2022 Foster Spotlight

She has the biggest heart and while she may not foster as many dogs as other fosters do, she has really stepped up and helped ME, she has helped with transporting fosters to appointments…she is always ready and willing to help anybody in need (in addition to homeless animals!).”
DPA’s Pawsome People: November 2021 Volunteer Spotlight

“Taylor is an amazing foster. Not only does she save lives, but she takes in the cats and dogs that literally no one else wants. She does not shy away from ringworm, behavior issues or long term shelter stays. She recently took in two very shy cats from Mesquite Animal Shelter who had been there for over 100 days.
She is an awesome advocate for her fosters and treats them like her own babies. Taylor’s positivity even when things get dark is what makes her an outstanding foster and volunteer. She is so wonderful to work with and we sure are lucky to have her. Thank you Taylor for the countless lives you’ve saved and time you have given to DPA.” -Jenay B., DPA’s Foster Director
Taylor really exemplifies the best of the fosters who support us here at DPA. Read more about her experience here.

“Kenzie is an amazing foster. Not only does she save lives, she takes on our most complex medical cases. She does not shy away from a dog that has major skin conditions, major orthopedic issues or chronic heart conditions. And right now, she is dealing with all three in her two foster dogs, Rhya and Laila…”

“Not only is Jenay an amazing veteran DPA foster and volunteer, she has recently taken on an additional role, a team lead of DPA’s behavior program. In uncharted territory, Jenay has jumped in head first in this new role to help support other fosters who are seeing behavioral challenges in their foster pets, and is helping coordinate regular DPA training opportunities, as well as measuring qualitative results and data from our training sessions to make sure our fosters are learning helpful and impactful information. Jenay does all of this with a smile, always positive and looking for ways she can help more foster parents and pets. Jenay is a true gem and a breath of fresh air on the Operations team.” – Andra A., VP of Animal Operations.
DPA’s Pawsome People: April 2021 Volunteer Spotlight

“Catherine has been a dedicated member of the rescue team for years and we are so lucky to have her on board to help us save lives. While she started out evaluating animals at our shelter partners, she has quickly pivoted to a remote role in the COVID age to help us save even more lives by virtually assessing animals and helping us “list” them for potential fosters. With Catherine’s help we’ve been able to save even more lives out of additional shelters needing our help, as well as help to divert shelter surrenders through her fast action!” -Elina D., DPA’s Rescue Director
DPA!’s Pawsome People: March 2021 Volunteer Spotlight

“Junel brings a welcome sense of pride, gratitude, and curiosity to all of her interactions with our team. Her emails brighten my day each time I receive them, a precious thing on our team since we handle difficult decisions and conditions every day. She is currently our most distant volunteer to Dallas, but you can clearly see and feel the love she puts into her work for our team, our animals, and our mission. Junel brings a growth mindset to learning and is always striving to improve her work. As we approach her 1 year anniversary with our team, it is my hope that this is only the first of many anniversaries to come.” -Bridget H., DPA’s Assistant Medical Director

“Christina has been a DPA family member since 2014 using her time, talent and treasure to help DPA further our mission. Christina has used her leadership and relationships to recruit event volunteers and guide our events to fundraising heights. She took the lead in establishing DPA’s online store and our first gala in 2019. Over the past year, due to the challenges of Covid, Christina led DPA’s efforts to transition to virtual fundraising events with super creative and fun activities to keep the DPA family connected. Today she continues to lead our Fundraising Events team and has added the role of adoption counselor because of her love for connecting families with our amazing DPA rescues!
What would I, (and all of DPA), do without her? I could not ask for a better partner in fundraising or a more inspirational advocate for our mission!” –Leslie S., DPA’s Executive Director & Founder
