DPA!’s Pawsome Person: March Foster Spotlight

When Danielle began fostering with us a little under a year ago, she dove in head first. Her first foster, Will, became a DPA favorite largely because of the amount of time and effort Danielle put into making him the best pup for his FURever. Danielle keeps up to date with marketing material – she doesn’t shy away from dressing up her fosters for holiday promos, uses her own network to spread the word about her fosters, and even created an instagram for them!

Leadership Spotlight: Dena, DPA!’s Alumni Director

Our responsibility for the pets adopted through Dallas Pets Alive! does not end at adoption. Alumni Director Dena Friend and her team help to ensure the health, safety, and overall well-being of our adopted dogs and cats are maintained after they have moved out of our program and into their forever homes.

DPA!’s Pawesome Person: February Volunteer Spotlight

Christine has been a dedicated member of the DPA family for roughly 3 years. While Christine has proven her support and love for DPA is various ways, such as fostering medically needy animals and being able to quarantine successfully when needed, take on tripods, and more, as a Foster Rep hard at work assisting foster families, she truly shines as our Lead Adoption Counselor.

Leadership Spotlight: Stefanie, DPA! Foster Director

A lot goes on behind the scenes of Dallas Pets Alive! While pets are always top of mind, we have a large, highly organized infrastructure that is run by a dedicated team of volunteers. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do for our four-legged friends without the commitment, support and dedication of the two-legged members of the DPA Family.

Meet Stefanie, DPA’s Foster Director. Stefanie and her team . When a dog or cat hears from Elina, they know they are safe with us.

“Camden has been an absolute rockstar of a foster during her time with DPA. She volunteers her time and resources in many aspects – as a foster representative, rescue coordinator and photographer – but what stands out above all else is her passion and compassion for animals. As a foster with DPA, Camden has fostered dogs of all sizes, ages, breeds and even a few litters in there! She doesn’t shy away from the dogs with medical issues or a long path to recovery and instead welcomes them with open arms. Dallas Pets Alive has been able to save many more lives because of Camden and we are so lucky to have her as a part of our team!”

DPA!’s Pawesome Person: January Foster Spotlight

Kristi & Jim have gone above and beyond as a foster family throughout their short time with DPA. Starting as a temp foster for an urgent dog and now a full time foster for our most at need, they do not shy away from dogs with medical issues or behavioral needs. They have an open mind to training advice and setting each foster dog that comes through her house up for success. Additionally, Kristi & Jim are some of the first to consistently offer urgent transport help for dogs that have mere hours left. They have a willingness to do whatever it takes to save these animals without batting an eye. We are extremely grateful for Kristi & Jim’s passion to help animals and are confident that we will be able to save more lives because of their help.

Marie is the eyes, ears and voice for DPA as our Facebook Social Media Coordinator. She is invaluable at contributing creative content ideas, providing quick and informative responses for people with questions, and having a positive attitude and team-oriented spirit. In her social media role, paired with her rescue role, Marie works closely with our Rescue Director Elina to help craft posts and plea for fosters for the most urgent pets at Dallas Animal Services. Together they help us save more homeless pets in Dallas!

Leadership Spotlight: Elina, DPA! Rescue Director

There is so much that goes into rescuing animals, especially within Dallas Pets Alive! While pets are always top of mind we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the commitment, support and dedication of the two-legged members of the DPA Family. While 2018 may be the Year of the Dog, we’ll be highlighting members of our Leadership Team, in addition to our monthly Pawesome Volunteers and Fosters, to give you a behind the scenes look at the people who make our mission possible.

DPA!’s Pawesome Person: December Foster Spotlight

Although Julie is new to the foster team, she has made such an impact in her short amount of time with DPA. We know that if a dog is in need of immediate transport to the vet or a temporary place to stay in order to leave the shelter, Julie will step up to the plate. She always has our dogs and cats in mind and will do whatever is needed to save their lives. She radiates generosity and compassion for not only the animals but the other fosters in our organization. It is people like Julie that make our community so strong and impact so great. I am excited to watch her grow in this organization and help save more lives.  – Stefanie Steiner, Foster Director for Dallas Pets Alive!

“Jey performs several roles for DPA! that we are lucky enough to have her in, she is a Foster Rep, a Rescue Coordinator, a New Partner Coordinator, and a Foster Application Vetter, and a Foster herself, but I think the role that she makes one of the biggest impacts for both our fosters and our […]
