Hi, my name is Auburn!

Adult Medium Male
Basset Hound / Mixed

Auburn is a sweet guy ready to live out his best years in style. After so many years of the ruff life, he is finally on the road to a happy-ever-after.

Auburn takes a little while to warm up to new people, especially men and dogs, but once he decides you're cool, he is incredibly happy to be near you all the time. He's not the biggest snuggler yet, but definitely enjoys belly and ear scratches. If there's a spot on the couch for him during movie night, he's happy to join in. He LOVES dog beds, and makes use of the several across the foster house. He's even learning how to play with toys and bones! He's slowly but surely learning how to be a dog.

Auburn would do best in a quieter home, but does enjoy the company of other dogs. He doesn't like to join in on rough-housing, but he is confident with other pups showing him how it's done. He may have resting sad hound dog face, but his tail wags a mile a minute when he's happy. You can hear it thumping from several rooms away!

Auburn is potty trained. He doesn't need a crate at all, but is okay with being in one. He is completely fine to be left free in the house while his people are at work. Auburn is waiting for knee surgery, so hasn't gone for many walks, but has walked fine on the leash when going to and from the vet. He will soon be fully recovered and ready for more walks!
