Meet the sweetest goofball Gus! He is a 4.5 year old Domestic Medium Hair cat with Turkish Van characteristics and coloring who loves couch cuddles and fuzzy blanket snuggles. Gus originally was rescued by East Dallas Kitty Club in October of 2021 as one of forty cats and kittens rescued from a hoarding situation.
Gus is a calm kitty with a gentle temperament. He has bursts of playful energy where he will chirp and dart around with joy but mostly enjoys lounging and making biscuits in his fuzzy cat bed. He gets along great with other cats and small dogs although he takes things slowly when he’s acclimating to a new space.
He has limited vision in his right eye which is enlarged due to fluid build up and high pressure but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. You can regularly find him nestled at the top of his cat tree! He lives with his older kitty sister Marlowe and two foster chiweenie siblings. While he becomes friends with everyone overtime I think he will adapt quickest to a quiet home with a patient and experienced pet owner. He is litterbox trained and easy to love but slow to come out of his shell.
Gus’ owner lost their job this past summer and was forced to move in with a family who have large dogs who love to chase cats. This has been a very stressful environment for Gus and one that put’s his safety at risk. He has lived with a foster friend for the last 8 months but they are moving away from the city. We want to find Gus a loving owner who will open their home up to him and give him a safe space and all the loving he deserves!
