Meet Candy Apple (New Digs)!

Candy Apple is a stunning gray lady who’s a healthy mix of gentle sweetness and energetic playfulness. She’s a 2 year old domestic shorthair with observant and striking yellow eyes. She is very timid at first, and it may take some time for her to warm up to new faces. Once she does, she’s loyal and happy to be wherever you are. Candy Apple was rescued with her kittens, including one she took in as her own. Now, this mama is in good health, spayed, and up to date on all shots and vaccines. She’s ready for a forever home full of snacks, play and pets.

Candy is a pretty independent cat, who’s content lounging and napping wherever seems cozy. Once she has had some rest, she’s ready to explore, and likes to make her rounds, inspecting to see what has changed in the last few. She’s very observant, silly and curious. She loves to watch her human go about their day. Don’t mistake her for a passive observer though. Once she’s ready to hunt (er, play), she means business. When faced with her favorite wand toy, Candy Apple channels her inner Simone Biles, performing some pretty impressive leaps and flips. She also enjoys playing on her own, and bats around little toys like Lionel Messi with a soccer ball. She loves having plenty of places to scratch and quiet retreats where she can get a break from the hustle and bustle.

Candy Apple isn’t very vocal, but you may occasionally hear a gentle meow, chirp or squeak asking for attention. She’s litterbox trained and a meticulous groomer. She can be a bit skittish, startling at sudden movements and loud noises. She’s not afraid to give a warning hiss, but with a bit of space, time, and reassurance, she should get accustomed to her people and her surroundings. It’s best to take her lead in on giving pets and cuddles, but once she trusts you, she’ll (very politely) approach you for both. It’s unknown whether or not she gets along with small kids or dogs, but in the past she’s been fine with other cats. Candy would probably do best in a quiet to moderately active home with attentive humans and space to do her own thing.

Candy is a sweet, playful and beautiful companion who’d be the perfect addition to the right home. Apply to adopt Candy Apple today!
