Meet Nova!

Nova is a very sweet girl who’s still learning how to be a kitten. She has been around large dogs and does well with them. She loves toys, loves to bring you gifts and will go crazy for a treat.

Nova is a really sweet, playful kitten with a lot of personality. She has tons of energy and loves wand toys and anything she can chase. Since she was a single kitten, she’s still learning what’s too rough during play, so she can get a little feisty sometimes—but it’s all just kitten energy, not aggression. Once she gets her playtime in and burns that energy off, she turns into a total cuddle bug and loves hanging out with her people.

Nova is *possibly* FeLV+. She is getting a secondary test to confirm when she is spayed. Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), is a virus that attacks the immune system of a cat. Cats with FeLV can live normal, happy, healthy lives— but they have a shorter life expectancy than FeLV negative cats. Over time, an infected cat’s health may progressively deteriorate or he/she may experience repeating cycles of illness and relative health. Close monitoring and regular vet care are important to manage the disease.

Any close contact among cats can spread FeLV, including bite wounds, mutual grooming, or sharing feeding dishes and litter boxes, so they should be housed without other cats or only with other FeLV+ cats. Because DPA believes these special cats still deserve to live out their lives in a loving home, the adoption fee for FeLV+ cats will be discounted 50%.
