Lola Bear had been waiting nearly three months with us, after spending more than a year overlooked at Balch Springs Animal Shelter. During the freeze in January of 2026, a supporter stopped by simply to drop off donations. On a whim, he decided to foster Lola Bear “just for the weekend.”
By the time the ice started to melt, Lola Bear had found her forever home. Sweet, playful, and bursting with personality, she’s living proof that sometimes all it takes is one chance, or in this case, one weekend to change a life.
