Meet Toby VII (New Digs)!

Bonded Pair – Mia & Toby
Mia and Toby are a devoted brother–sister pair who have spent their entire lives together and are hoping to stay side by side. At 10 years old they still have plenty of love, personality, and companionship to give.

After their longtime owner was placed into a care facility due to dementia, a family member was unable to continue caring for them and they were later found underweight and without collars. When a car door opened, they climbed in together as if they knew it meant safety.

Mia is the playful one who loves walks, while Toby is the gentle shadow who simply wants to stay close to his people. Together they make the perfect pair.

Meet Toby – the gentle shadow who just wants to be wherever you are.
Toby is a sweet and sensitive 10-year-old mixed-breed pup, though you would never guess his age he has the spirit and energy of a much younger dog around 3 years old. He is about 40lbs now and has a cute mullet. Toby has a soft, thoughtful personality and tends to quietly observe the world before jumping in. His most charming trait is how closely he likes to stay nearby. If you move rooms, Toby will likely quietly follow along just to keep you company. Toby and his sister Mia recently experienced a heartbreaking life change when their longtime owner was placed into a care facility due to dementia. During that transition, the dogs were found underweight and without collars. When they were found and saw an opened a car door, they climbed in together as if they knew they were finally safe. By an amazing coincidence, the veterinary clinic they were brought to turned out to be the same clinic they had visited for years, and the staff immediately recognized them. Toby is now healthy, neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on vaccinations including rabies.

Toby is the quieter half of this sibling pair. He is gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he can simply relax near his people. He enjoys chewing on bully sticks, lounging nearby, and occasionally playing when the mood strikes. Toby loves meeting new people and does well with guests visiting the home. He can be a little unsure around new dogs at first, but after a few days he typically warms up and becomes part of the group. Because of his calm and sensitive nature, Toby would do best in a home with a yard where he can explore comfortably and preferably without young children, allowing him time to build confidence and settle into his new environment.

Toby is house-trained and is currently improving his leash skills. Like Mia, he doesn’t know formal tricks yet but shows signs of being very smart and responsive to gentle training. It appears Toby may have spent a good portion of his life outdoors, so he is still learning the routines and comforts of indoor life. Toby is being rehomed through no fault of his own, simply because his previous owner could no longer care for him due to life circumstances.

Toby shares a deep bond with his sister Mia, and ideally they would find a home where they can continue their lives together. With patience and love, Toby will become a deeply loyal companion.
