Meet Stanley, your future “how is he even real?” dog.
Stanley is an 8-year-old sweetheart who is so well-behaved, gentle, and easy to love that his holiday getaway family decided to keep him for an entire month just to help him find his home of his own. Their words, not ours, he is the best foster they have ever had and could teach their dogs a thing or two.
He gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes, is wonderful with children, and greets new people with calm confidence. He has not been tested with cats, but he is incredibly chill, gentle, and shows no signs of aggression. Stanley is leash trained, potty trained, crate trained, and obedient to the core. Tell him something once and he does it. He can be left loose in the house during the day, sleeps soundly in a dog bed at night, and does not bark, even when other dogs try to convince him to join in.
Stanley arrived to rescue severely emaciated, but with proper care and a refeeding plan, he is steadily gaining weight and thriving. His activity level is low and easygoing. He enjoys short walks, soaking up the sun outside, and lounging near his people. A mile walk is perfect for him, followed by a long nap.
His daily routine is simple and sweet. Morning potty, breakfast, relaxing in his bed, a short afternoon walk, dinner, more lounging, and then bedtime upstairs with the rest of the pack. He may follow you around now and then, but he is just as happy relaxing in his own space nearby.
Stanley’s love language is a perfect mix. He enjoys affection, especially belly rubs and booty scratches, but he is not needy. He loves treats, especially bully sticks, and is just generally happy to be included in whatever you are doing.
His foster says there is not a single concerning quality about him. He handles baths, ear cleanings, and paw wipes with ease. He calmly tolerated a loud Christmas gathering with eight people he had never met. He is loving, well-behaved, and incredibly chill. And yes, his adorable underbite is just as charming as it sounds.
Any family would be beyond lucky to call Stanley their own. He deserves a soft place to land, a comfy dog bed, and a forever home where he never has to see a shelter again.
If you are looking for a truly special dog who will quietly and completely steal your heart, Stanley is waiting.
