Meet SAMANTHA!
Samantha is an approximately 8 year old black cat that is very petite (6 pounds) and also very special. Samantha was found in the neighborhood alley by her now foster mom. She looked sick, skinny, with drooling coming out of her mouth. She underwent dental surgery and most of her teeth were removed. Once she recovered from dental surgery, she was spayed, got her vaccinations and was microchipped. And if that’s not enough for this little girl, she also has leukemia virus…
Despite all her health issues, Samantha is a sweetheart. She is a very quiet cat and shy at first, but responds well to kind treatment and especially good food! She loves to eat, and requires soft food only, with medication to control her mouth condition, stomatitis (she is taking one prednisolone tablet every other day in her food).
At her foster home, Samantha is isolated in a small room as there are other cats in the house. She gets along well with other cats (observed her interactions with other cats while she was in the alley). It is unknown about children or dogs, but it is a good guess that she will do better in a quiet home. Because she is isolated and alone most of the time, we are looking for a better home for this sweet girl who has been through so much. Ideal home would be where are other cats with leukemia or no cats, and if it’s your home, please apply to adopt Samantha!
