Eileen is a gorgeous 8 month old spotted tabby who is a fun, curious, playful little girl. She’s been fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped since she was 5 months old. Eileen plays hard and loves even harder. Found as a stray 1 month old, it has been a huge blessing helping her go from a fearful little runt to a vibrant girl who finally found comfort and peace. Her journey has been so inspiring and so fulfilling – we can’t wait for you and Eileen to share that experience forever!
For a few months prior to meeting Eileen in March 2025, a young, malnourished, pregnant cat showed up hoping for food. Once trust was gained, she came back with 5 little kittens, one being little Eileen. Most of the kittens took to interacting with people within a day, as they were not conditioned to fear humans yet. Eileen, however, remained cautious for a few weeks. It was obvious in her body language that she wanted to join her siblings at our daily dinners, but she just couldn’t get herself to make it to their food. “C’mon Eileen,” we would sing. Name acquired.
During those few weeks, every effort to show the worth of human interaction was made. After countless hours of contemplating, each day she would inch closer. Her personality started to show and her potential for adoption was growing rapidly. All that sweet girl needed was time and patience. On the two week mark, she joined the litter in the stampede to the dinner spot. After 3 months of care and trust-building, the litter was brought in for their vet appointments.
Eileen was surprisingly quick to enjoy house living. After one day, she struts the house like she owns it. She’s so curious about everything and everyone, seeming to take in every aspect of life. She loves any type of running water, and will even wait for you while you’re showering. She follows the robot vacuum around the house, it is absolutely fascinating to her. She loves bright, loud, fast toys that make her feel like she’s a wildcat attacking them. She is also a BUG GETTER!! Not a single fly, beetle, or moth has survived in the house since she came in, so if you find yourself letting a couple of flies in – let Eileen take care of the job! She will earn her keep at your home!
On the other side of her personality, as soon as you hit the couch, the bed, or a desk chair, she politely requests that you make space for her on your lap. She loves the warmth, and she loves pets and even squeezes from you. She’ll love to walk around the house with you while you hold her. She’s become so docile and trusting since her first days. She will let you hold her paws, pet her stomach, hold her face for kisses, and even hold her up in the air while being fully relaxed. Because of these traits, Eileen would do very well in a home that always has something new happening in it or around it. She immediately enjoyed the chaos of children and new pets. She hasn’t lived with a dog indoors, but outside she would be found taunting the dogs walking by. Just sitting there on the steps staring at them. She either knew they were leashed, or knew she could out run them if they tried anything. Eileen can play tough and tire out other pets, then snuggle up with them and love on them. She loves grooming other cats, yet has respect for those that aren’t interested in grooming.
Eileen immediately took to litter training and has always covered everything up. She will do great when you leave the house for hours at a time, just leave some toys out. She’s always been very easy-going about food, happy with any crunchy or wet food she’s transitioned through.
Eileen has a very distinguished spotted coat, with “stockings” on her back legs and “mittens” on her front. She gets fed salmon oil with her dinner (not required), so her coat has become strikingly soft. Her broad nose and golden green eyes have been compared to the Na’vi people of the movie Avatar.
Eileen has been such a joy to work with, she is so ready to meet her forever family! Thank you for considering this sweet girl!
