Meet Baker!

Meet Baker – The Loaf with a Heart of Gold

If you’re looking for a six-year-old gentleman with the emotional range of a Pixar protagonist and the snuggle game of a weighted blanket, Baker is your guy.

Baker has been through it. Multiple stints in the shelter. Abandonment. A body covered in wounds and skinny enough to break your heart. But he’s made the decision to leave all that behind and embrace the soft life like a pro.

Now? He’s thriving. Baker is:
• Potty trained
• Kid approved (his baby human is basically his soulmate)
• A certified couch loaf
• An expert cuddler who thinks laps are made for dogs like him
• Incredibly gentle, even when tiny hands get a little too curious
• Leash polite and backyard bathroom efficient
• A total Velcro lovebug, but slowly learning how to nap in other rooms without fear of being left behind

He’s also:
• Calm around the house
• Learning commands and eager to please (especially if treats are involved)
• A dramatic snorer, frequent farter, and proud one-ear-flopper
• A dragon plushie enthusiast (de-stuffed, of course)

Baker has a hilarious “baby cry” whimper if you leave him behind and a knack for hopping baby gates like an Olympic hurdler if it means getting back to his person. He’s not looking for a crate. He’s looking for a bed, preferably yours.

He’s currently undergoing treatment for heartworms and will be getting a few bad teeth pulled soon. But he’s eating just fine and healing fast. Emotionally, he’s even further along. What started as flinches and cowers has turned into full-body wiggles and blind trust.

Baker doesn’t just want a home. He wants a human. Someone who won’t give up on him. Someone he can check on when they’re sad, snuggle when they’re tired, and love with his whole goofy, wiggly self.

He’s got some history behind those soulful eyes… but he’s so ready for the chapter that ends in happily ever after.
