For the past five years, Kevin Kirksey has been deeply involved with Dallas Pets Alive, driven by the unwavering passion of the organization’s Executive Director, Leslie, for animal welfare. Inspired by Leslie’s dedication, Kevin made the decision to join the board, where he has contributed to the mission of saving and improving the lives of animals in need.
At the core of Dallas Pets Alive’s mission lies a commitment to addressing challenging medical cases in animals. This aspect resonates deeply with Kevin, as he recognizes the crucial importance of maintaining top-tier animal operations, foster care, and adoption teams to accomplish this goal.
One of the most impactful moments in Kevin’s journey with Dallas Pets Alive was attending the Steampunk Festival in costume. This experience provided him with a fresh perspective on adoption and reinforced his dedication to the cause.
As a board member, Kevin is committed to scaling Dallas Pets Alive’s mission by forming culturally-aligned partnerships with remarkable individuals and organizations, such as Steven Knight of Dogs Matter.
During his tenure on the board, Kevin aims to expand the reach of the organization’s PASS program to new geographies and establish a physical presence beyond the current location through exciting partnerships, like the one forged with Community Beer Company.
Kevin firmly believes that Dallas Pets Alive can continue to make a meaningful impact in the animal rescue community by advocating alongside THLN at Texas Congress and other legislative bodies.
