When Stevie Nicks was picked up by her new foster family from the shelter, the state of her health and physical appearance was deplorable. Stevie was visibly neglected with long, unruly hair covered in mats, dirt and debris. After some much needed TLC from Vhea’s Laundromutt, Stevie looked better than ever. The next hurdle for this girl: overcoming heartworms. Stevie was given an intense treatment and took a full month for recovery.
Despite her blindness, her foster family quickly learned this sweet girl was not only confident but very independent. And in just a few short weeks, fate came calling. Stevie was adopted by a couple who wanted to add another dog to their family. They quickly fell in love with Stevie’s calm demeanor and sweet face. Stevie is quickly getting used to her new home and has already met her extended family.
“She is adjusting so well! We love her so much. Took her to the lake house this weekend to introduce her to everyone. It’s hard not to love such a sweetheart,” says her foster mom.
