Say, “Hello,” to the great Reubeano!” His real name is Reuben, but also goes by Reubeano, Beano and Bean 🙂 He is an 8 month old (as of March) miniature dachshund (chocolate & tan) who is 15 lbs. He’s adventurous, loves the outdoors and being with his family. He has a stout, strong and robust body which leads me to believe he’d do great on a ranch or property! He’s a confident guy. In September our family bought a purebred male littermate pair from a reputable breeder. We went in with the intention of purchasing one puppy and ended up with both as they were the cutest boys and couldn’t split them up!
Reuben is a fun loving, happy puppy who loves to play wrestle with his brother outside and go on walks with the rest of our pack. He gets along with other dogs and currently lives with his littermate, our three year old female black lab mix, and our 10 year old male chocolate lab. He loves to play chase with his brother and our female dog. They do well together. The older lab can get in the mix sometimes but he tends to stay out of the mix. He does exhibit resource guarding with high value treats such as bones, but we isolate him and the others when those treats are available and monitored. But because of this I do believe he’s better suited in a home with older / grown kids and or with one single well trained older dog. Overall, Reuben is a great little dog with big personality. He deserves more 1:1 time with an owner to train him and help him more with his behavioral issues. I’m a stay at home mom so he is used to having someone home most of the day and I’ll be looking for that with his new family. He is fully crate and potty trained.
