Breed: Labrador Retriever

Meet Lucy IX (New Digs)!

This is Lucy “Goosey”. She is four years old, and 70lbs of cuddly, fluffy, and goofy lab mix. Lucy has come a long way since we first found her as a young dog abandoned on the side of a dirt road in Arkansas just three years ago. She had numerous health problems when we first found her but is now perfectly healthy and heartworm FREE!

Lucy is crate/house trained and fully trained on all basic commands + a few others. She can “heel”, “sit”, “paw/shake”, “speak”, “up/jump”, “down”, “stay”, and “place” on a cot. She can also “high five”. Lucy even has a certificate to show her hard work in a 2 week board and train boot camp!
Lucy is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, on a heart worm/flea and tick preventative, and microchipped.

Lucy would fit well in a home with children. She currently lives in a home with an 18 month old. She is very gentle with him and will give lots of kisses when allowed but she can also be clumsy and have a little trouble with spacial awareness.

Lucy has a very strong prey drive. One of her favorite things to do is look out the window for squirrels. At times this activity can be all-consuming for her and is a contributing factor towards her anxiety medication. She currently lives with another dog but she is not great with dogs or cats and ultimately would do best in a home where she is the only pet.

Lucy loves tennis balls and playing fetch. She is a very gentle dog with a sweet temperament. Lucy “Goosey” is deserving of a forever home. It is important to us that we find a good fit and are able to know she’s happy and well with future updates. Do you think Lucy’s forever home is with you? Apply to adopt Lucy IX today!
