Meet Marble (New Digs)!

Meet curious mister Marble! He is a 14.5lb domestic shorthair tabby who is just over 1 year old. Marble is social, bold, funny, playful, and affectionate. He meows to greet us when we come home, and he loves to help himself to our laps when we are sitting down. He is always down to try a new toy, and loves to inspect new things by grabbing them with his paws! Marble was found last year with his 5 littermates at just 1 week old, stashed away in an attic soffit by their first-time mama cat. After not being able to nurse from mama for 3 days, it is a miracle that Marble and his siblings—most with eyes and ears still closed—were found alive and healthy. Marble and his siblings were all treated for worms right away, and they all grew up to be happy healthy cats. Marble is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all his vaccines.

Marble flip-flops between high and low energy levels. He loves to play with his brother Coal, climb the cat tree, use the cardboard scratchers, chase bugs, play with toys, and have the zoomies; but then he’ll decide he’s done and will “plop” down onto the floor to relax. He is the best of both worlds: he is always engaged with playtime and social time, but he is also content to be lazy with you! Marble has never been shy or scared of people, and has gotten along splendidly with children. Additionally, Marble lives in his foster home with 2 medium dogs and has grown to tolerate them, but does not love them, so he would do best in a home without dogs or with low-energy dogs who give him his space. Marble and his brother Coal are the only remaining 2 of their litter of 6 who have yet to find a forever home. These sweet boys have become quite bonded, so they would love to be adopted together so that their quirky personalities and loving qualities truly shine.

He loves tube treats and has learned the “sit” command to receive them; he also does great for nail trimmings if he’s distracted with a tube treat as well. Marble is quite smart! He took quickly to litter box training and has been wonderful about using the litter boxes, without a single accident. He has also become de-sensitized to our vacuum, letting us vacuum around him as he stays “plopped” on the floor. He has not yet grown out of his kitten habit of inspecting things with his mouth, nibbling and chewing things to figure them out; so he might need some redirection with that. Marble is an indoor-only cat and has always been around other cats (his mother and siblings), so his ideal home would be inside, with a family who gives him lots of attention and space to get out his bursts of playful energy.

This sweet and smart tabby boy is so eager for love and attention, and has so much love to give in return! Apply to adopt Marble today!
