At 11 years old, Brunson was surrendered to the shelter as his owner could no longer attend to his medical needs as he was reportedly having seizures, uncontrollable bowel movement and skin issues. After a visit to the vet, Brunson was confirmed to have an ear infection; anemic; cataracts; has visual deficits but can see a little; hard of hearing, but may be able to hear better after ear infection clears up. When Brunson first joined DPA, we initially thought he would be hospice pup, but after getting settled in he was just another upbeat older pup. Brunson was with his foster mom during the toughest times in her life, when her dad passed away… Brunson never left her side. He would nudge her to pet him while she was upset/crying, for that it was bittersweet to drop off when Brunson was adopted by an incredible family.
