Meet Tugger, a 7-year-old, 15-pound Russian Blue with movie-star looks and the confidence to match. With his plush silver coat and striking green eyes, Tugger has a presence that says, “Yes, I am the moment.” He’s fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and litter box trained—basically, ready to move in and take over your heart (and probably your favorite chair).
Tugger is an independent gentleman who enjoys being near his people but on his own terms. He may not be a lap cat, but he’s a constant companion—always nearby, always observing, and always ready to remind you that he is, indeed, very handsome—and may invade your lap because he feels like it at the moment. After a short transition period, he confidently made himself at home in my space and settled into a routine with ease. He does great with a typical workday schedule and would be a good match for older, respectful kids who understand that not all affection must be hands-on.
As for other animals, Tugger currently lives with another cat—but they’re more like reluctant roommates than friends. Tugger might thrive as the only cat where he can soak up all the attention, but he could also do well with a playful, social cat who actually wants to interact with him. He has done surprisingly well with dogs, likely because they can’t be bothered to get drawn into a passive-aggressive feline standoff.
Tugger came to me under bittersweet circumstances. He had been with his original family since kittenhood as an only cat, but with a new baby on the way and a major move, they felt they couldn’t give him the attention he deserved. They were planning to surrender him to a shelter, and I couldn’t let that happen. I took him in, hoping to give him a soft landing—but almost a year later, it’s clear that he and my resident cat are not a good match. Tugger deserves a home where he can either be the star or finally find a true furry friend to connect with.
Tugger is smart, sassy, affectionate in his own dignified way, and ready for a forever home that truly fits him.
