This clever little guy already knows his name and will come running when you call him. For such a young kitten, he’s incredibly smart! Sven has been bravely battling FIP and takes his medication (halfway through treatment) like an absolute champion. He knows exactly when it’s medicine time and will happily remind you. He’ll also be sure to let you know when it’s time for dinner!
Sven is playful and curious. He loves every toy and scratching post he can find and is perfectly happy entertaining himself as he bounces from one adventure to the next. While he’s independent, he’s also incredibly affectionate. When playtime is over, he’ll happily curl up with you for cuddles and nonstop purrs.
He’s also wonderfully well-mannered. Sven lives with a large senior dog and is so respectful of his space, often choosing to simply sit beside him instead of bouncing all over him. With other cats, he loves to wrestle with his siblings and reads their cues well, making him a great feline companion.
Out of all his siblings, Sven has been an absolute joy to foster. He’s easygoing, loving, adaptable, and has the sweetest temperament. His resilience, intelligence, and affectionate nature make him a truly special kitten
Sven is FeLV+. Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), is a virus that attacks the immune system of a cat. Cats with FeLV can live normal, happy, healthy lives— but they have a shorter life expectancy than FeLV negative cats. Over time, an infected cat’s health may progressively deteriorate or he/she may experience repeating cycles of illness and relative health. Close monitoring and regular vet care are important to manage the disease.
Any close contact among cats can spread FeLV, including bite wounds, mutual grooming, or sharing feeding dishes and litter boxes, so they should be housed without other cats or only with other FeLV+ cats. Because DPA believes these special cats still deserve to live out their lives in a loving home, the adoption fee for FeLV+ cats will be discounted 50%.
All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard adoption fee for kittens under six months is $150, for two kittens it is $200, and for three kittens it is $300.
