Meet Smudge–she may be small, but she has a big personality! She is 7 years old, weighs about 9lbs, and has striking green eyes. She’s a huge fan of string and ribbon and will chase them for hours if you have the time and energy to match her enthusiasm! She’s an affectionate companion who adores people but prefers to rule over your household as the only feline overlord. Her shots are all up to date (even though she didn’t appreciate getting them) and she’s spayed as well as microchipped.
Smudge loves to be played with, but she is also quite the cuddle bug (on her terms) and will happily sit in a lap all day if you let her. Children old enough to know not to pull on tails or corner an animal are her favorite playmates, she matches well with their abundance of energy and likes to meow back in conversation to their babble and chatter.
If you are someone who has company over frequently, she rather enjoys meeting new people. She has a fun little quirk where she bucks up to receive pets and it tends to be a hit with guests. Smudge is nervous and anxious around other cats and would prefer not to live with the feline kind. We are unsure how she would be in a house with dogs. She has been around small dogs in the past with no issue and simply avoided (though it did increase her anxiety) the larger dogs we briefly pet-sat.
She is litterbox trained and will only do her business in the litterbox you’ve designated, there have never been any accidents in the house. Before her anxiety around other cats manifested, she would play fetch with her toys, and bring them to us when she wanted to play. Ideally, her new home would only have one four-legged occupant to help ease her anxiety. She may not be a fan of other cats but the affection she displays for human companions is equal to any two cats that I’ve met! We personally would love to keep her but due to her ever-increasing anxiety about the other cats in our home we have to keep her separated from them and by extension us. This situation is not tenable as it leaves her depressed and lonely as she is very sociable when it comes to people and loves to interact with her human companions.
To sum things up, Smudge is a cute, cuddly, and social (with humans) cat who would make an excellent addition to your household. She’s great with older kids and loves to play so if you’re looking for a house-trained cat with a big personality, she’s the four-legged friend you’ve been waiting for!
