If you believe “Big is Beautiful”, you’ve found the perfect cat. Meet Luna, a 5 year old tuxedo tabby female kitty. She has been chipped, fixed, and front-declawed. Everything about her is big, from her weight (at a little over 18 lbs) to her personality. That just means more to love.
We fostered/adopted Luna from a family who had 3 very active young boys, another senior cat, and a dog. Luna was very stressed out in this environment and spent all day hiding from everyone until the kids went to bed and she would then come cuddle with the adults. Her original family wanted to provide her with a less stressful, more relaxed environment so we offered to take her in hopes she would be a new friend to our senior kitty.
Unfortunately, she has been consistently bullying our other cat for the last 7 months and despite a careful, extended intro period and trying every tip, trick, product, and process we could get our hands on, nothing has changed. Because of this, we feel Luna would fit best in a home where she can be someone’s one-and-only princess.
Luna loves to chase around her favorite toys and will curl up under your feet when you’re at the desk or next to you on the couch. She’s shy at first but she’s extremely talkative and aggressively cuddly when it comes to food. She has been on a restricted calorie diet for basically the last 6-12 months but, as with any diet, she hasn’t really lost any weight but the vets have indicated she will always be on the larger side because she’s a relatively big-boned cat to begin with.
Because of her weight, she does have some grooming issues of her sanitary area so she does need the occasional wipe-down and a sanitary shave. The vet has done it once and we’ve also done it and she seemed to tolerate it enough to get the job done. We can provide the rechargeable clippers we used with her adoption, in addition to a case of her favorite/current food, her XL litter box, and several of her favorite toys.
She really is a sweet, loving, social kitty once she warms up to you. She just needs the right environment to thrive in, ideally one with no children under teens, and no other pets. If this sounds like you, please apply to adopt her today!
