Meet Leo VIII (New Digs)!

Meet the adorable Leo! He is a 3 y/o 55lb Australian Cattle Dog/American Staffordshire Terrier (and more) Mix with big ears and wish to people please. Leo was found by a friend of friend of mine with a littermate as a stray at a pretty young age and with no mom/dad in the picture. He came to my home at a presumed age of 10-14 weeks. Besides being a little underweight and dirty when he was found, he didn’t have any illnesses or injuries. He had one episode of kennel cough at approximately 6 months old but has been healthy and without injury since then. He is up to date with all vaccinations, is neutered and microchipped. He receives monthly heartworm/flea prevention treatment.

Leo is an active and playful companion who loves to take walks, run around the backyard or play at doggie daycare with friends. He enjoys toys, especially chew toys and won’t miss an epic game of tug of war with his humans and fur friends. He has lived as an only dog in the house but goes to daycare routinely so is well socialized with other dogs. He has not lived with cats or children so might be unsure how to interact with either. Leo is a doting guy who likes to lay on the couch next to or at the feet of his humans. He can be a busy bee but loves a good nap too! He may be discerning with his affection initially but will quickly want to give kisses if you’re into it too. An ideal home for Leo will be one with a yard, with an owner who is home often and enjoys routine walks/exercise.

Leo is housebroken, crate-trained and leash-trained. He responds well to his name, knows commands such as sit, stay, come, this way, go to your room (his crate or bed) and down. We’ve been working on slip lead leash walking and he’s responded well to training, very little pulling now when walking! He’s a smart guy who responds well to training. He loves car rides and jerky treats. He is food motivated if it’s tasty things like chicken, turkey or cheese.

Rehoming Leo is heartbreaking – he is a great companion and pup. My health and work schedule has changed dramatically and does not allow me to provide him with attention and exercise that I previously was able to give him. He deserves the best!
