Meet Josie, Your Next Adventure Buddy & Snuggle Pro!
Meet Josie, who’s equal parts playful pup and professional snuggler. Rescued from euthanasia at Dallas Animal Services, Josie is now thriving in her foster home and soaking up every bit of love and life she can get. She’s great with dogs and kids, and while she’s still learning a few manners like respecting personal space when greeting guests she’s full of love and enthusiasm. Josie has a rough-and-rowdy play style and does well with both big and small dogs. She would thrive with a dog sibling who can match her energy and gently teach her when it’s time to settle down.
Josie is catching on quickly to crate training, leash manners, and potty training. She’s incredibly smart and very motivated by toys and treats (especially anything that squeaks!). While she can get a little mouthy during play—typical for her age she responds well to correction and loves to please. Josie is currently living in an apartment and does great as long as she has enough stimulation. She’s a curious, energetic girl who enjoys walks on the Katy Trail, playing with her favorite toys, and cuddling up by your legs when it’s time to relax.
Due to her strong prey drive, Josie likely wouldn’t be a good fit for a home with cats. She’s still working through some crate anxiety and will sometimes bark or whine before settling down, but she’s improving every day. Her ideal home would be with an active individual or family who can keep up with her high energy, provide consistent structure, and shower her with love. Josie’s foster admits they’re tempted to adopt her themselves, but want to give her the best chance at finding the perfect forever family. With her happy spirit, loving heart, and zest for life, Josie is ready to bring joy and laughter to her next home.
If you’re looking for a dog who will be your best friend on adventures and your cuddle buddy at the end of the day, Josie is your girl.
