Gordo II (New Digs)

Age: Adult
Breed: Australian Shepherd

Meet Gordo II (New Digs)!

Meet the goofy Gordo! He is an almost 2-year-old, 60lb, Ausiedoodle mix who has never met a stranger. He is long-haired and almost solid black, besides his white chest. He is smart and loves to make his people proud. We got Gordo as well as one of his brothers from a friend when they were just 7 weeks old. Gordo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date with his Rabies vaccination. He has never had any health issues and is on a monthly flea, tick, heartworm preventative.

Gordo is very energetic, especially when around other energetic dogs. He loves to play fetch and hide-and-seek. He gets along great with other dogs and currently lives with his brother and a 7lb dachshund. He has never been around cats or other types of animals. He has been raised around children his entire life and his family includes four children currently ages 3, 5, 9, and 11. He loves to play with little ones and has been working on learning to not jump on friends and/or strangers. His favorite thing is belly rubs and he’ll happily jump up on your lap and cuddle up.

Gordo is crate-trained and sleeps in the crate at night. He is still working on walking on a leash without getting too excited when he sees other dogs or other people, but he’s a big people-pleaser and would do amazing with a little bit of time. He is fully housebroken. He is very treat-motivated, smart, and sits very well. He is still very much young and silly, but has so much potential to learn a lot. An ideal home for Gordo would be a family with children that love to play and cuddle. He behaves very well on his own or with less energetic dogs, but also would do well with other dogs of similar personality but would definitely be more energetic overall. He does so well in the crate during the day, so a family that works outside of the home is fine.

We are looking to rehome him due to absolutely no fault of his own. With four kids at home who are getting older and more involved with extracurricular activities, husband works out of town often, and mom works full time and is in school full-time we just are not able to give him the attention he deserves. He would do really well with just a little bit of time to work on learning new tricks and playing games because he really does love to please his people and feel like he is working.

Gordo is honestly an amazing dog and everyone he meets loves him instantly. If you want a devoted best friend apply to adopt Gordo today!
