Did you know that fostering saves two lives at once? Fostering is one of the greatest ways to rescue homeless animals, giving them the best chance possible to find their fur-ever homes. For each pet we keep out of local shelters by fostering, one more shelter space can be saved for another animal in need.
We’re hosting our very first annual Foster Fest: a special day all about fostering! Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 25, from 1p.m. to 5p.m. and join us at the Adoption Container @ Community Beer Co. [3110 Commonwealth Dr.] We’ll be celebrating our amazing foster parents and welcoming first-time fosters into our pack!
As a 100% foster-based rescue, we’ve seen thousands of inspiring transformations. At Foster Fest, you’ll hear some of these incredible stories, learn helpful tips & tricks to set you up for success, and discover just how easy fostering can be with the support of a rescue like DPA!
Many of our shelter partners will be joining us and will be bringing shelter dogs that are looking for a foster just like you! We would love to see each shelter animal that comes to Foster Fest find a loving foster home so they don’t have to go back to the shelter. You can sign up and take one of these pups home that same day to begin your fostering journey! Learn more about our foster program.

DPA! is a foster-based rescue organization, which means the amount of cats and kittens we can take into our program is dependent upon the number of compassionate foster parents who join us to help us save these animals’ lives. When you sign up to become a DPA! foster, our expert foster team will help match you with the right animal(s) to ensure the best experience for both you and your foster pet(s). Our team is equipped to provide all the support you need, whether you’re an experienced foster new to DPA! or you’re signing up to foster for the very first time!

Rocky, a handsome 3-year-old Russian Blue, has been on quite the journey. Originally rescued from a hoarding situation, Rocky can be a bit timid at first, but with lots of love and patience, he’ll begin to come out of his shell. He’s a cuddly and playful boy who does well with other cats and dogs. Adopt Rocky!
