“I nominated Markita because she is one of those dependable behind the scenes volunteers that doesn’t get the credit she deserves. Markita is responsible for searching through all of our emails to find and enter all the medical expenses into a spreadsheet. Though it’s not glamorous and hands-on, tracking our vet costs and allocating them correctly is a giant weight off of my shoulders and allows me to focus on the health and well-being of our foster animals.
In the past, Markita has fostered kitties and saved countless lives, but these days, she’s been traveling the world with her family. Despite keeping a dizzying travel schedule, she finds time to help make sure that our receipts are entered correctly and on time. Markita is communicative and checks in regularly if she needs help, or has a scheduling conflict. I love that as her schedule has evolved, that she’s kept DPA in her life, but just in a different way. The medical team loves Markita! .” -Jessica D., DPA’s Medical Director
