DALLAS, TX – March 2025 – Dallas Pets Alive (DPA) is proud to announce the appointment of Christopher Skoog as its new Board President. A dedicated advocate for animal welfare, Chris has been an integral part of DPA since 2019, bringing passion, leadership, and hands-on experience to the organization’s mission of promoting pet rescue and adoption.
Chris’s journey with DPA began with a personal commitment to the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, where he took grassroots action to improve the lives of stray and at-risk animals in his community. Alongside his wife, Sally, he has fostered dozens of animals, recognizing fostering as a vital component of rescue efforts. His involvement has extended beyond fostering, as he has co-chaired the DPA Soirée Committee and served as Chair of the DPA Development Committee, driving fundraising and strategic growth initiatives.
Now, as Board President, Chris continues to champion DPA’s mission, leveraging his experience as a volunteer, foster, adopter, donor, and leader. His deep-rooted dedication to animal welfare along with his strategic vision will help guide DPA’s continued impact in North Texas.
Outside of his work at DPA, Chris serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Hewes Fund Management, LLC. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he dedicated four years to military service before pursuing a career in accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant in New York State and brings extensive financial expertise to his leadership roles.
When he isn’t rescuing cats and dogs, Chris pursues his passion for endurance sports as a three-time Ironman athlete! He and Sally are proud pet parents to two beloved DPA rescues, Carys and Barkley.

About Dallas Pets Alive!
Founded in 2012, Dallas Pets Alive is a mostly volunteer-run, foster-based animal rescue dedicated to saving the lives of healthy and treatable pets at greatest risk of euthanasia in North Texas. Most pets that come into our care have medical issues so severe that shelters do not have the capacity for support. While fostering and adopting homeless pets is central to our mission, DPA has made it a top priority to proactively work with families and individuals through our PASS and Dogs Matter programs to help keep pets in their homes as well.
Along with our volunteers, fosters, adopters, and supporters, we have transformed nearly 27,500 animals’ and their families’ lives in our first 11 years. Learn more at https://dallaspetsalive.org/.
