Surrendering a Pet
When we adopt dogs from our rescue, we want our adopters to know they are giving this animal a FOREVER home. This means caring for the animal and making them a part of your family for the duration of their life. We hope all pet owners take this responsibility just as seriously. We do understand that there are extreme circumstances in which owners are unable to care for their animal, and in that case we do our best to assist. We strive to keep as many animals out of kill shelters as possible, and have several resources that could address the concerns about your pet or in severe cases, help you re-home the animal. The Positive Alternative to Shelter Surrender Program is designed to help with these instances.
About the Dallas Pets Alive!
Dallas Pets Alive is a completely volunteer based organization. We work to save as many animals as possible, however we do not have our own facility. We rely completely on our amazing fosters to take the animals into their home, and bring them to our adoption events. Our fosters are stepping up in such an amazing way to keep these animals out of kill shelters and caring for them until they find their FURever home.
Where We Rescue From
Dallas Pets Alive rescues directly through Dallas Animal Services. Because we are a completely volunteer and foster based organization, we are unable to take in stray or owner surrender animals.
