What is your current role?
I work as the Social Media Coordinator for the Instagram channel.
How did you get involved with volunteering at DPA?
I became great friends with someone who volunteered at DPA and spoke very highly of the organization. I was fairly new to Dallas at the time, and was looking for ways to get involved in the community. As someone who cares deeply about animals and their rights, DPA seemed to be a great opportunity encompassing ways to give back that are truly important to me. Since I work on the social team, I have the unique opportunity to spread the word to a large audience about animals in need.
What are you most passionate about at DPA?
I am passionate about DPA’s mission. In particular, they have an impactful mission which is to rescue animals that are close to euthanasia and DPA demonstrates that all animals deserve a chance to live a long, healthy life, and be with a happy family.
What are some words of wisdom to new DPA Volunteers?
Try to be as active as you can and attend any DPA hosted events. It can be a great way to meet other like-minded people. It will give you the opportunity to meet new friends, interact with the adoptable pets, and learn more about DPA.
