Sammy is at the perfect point to find his forever home. He’s just passed his first birthday and he’s taking his time to leave his puppy energy behind him. He’s primed to learn and adapt to an active family schedule. He enjoys moments of high energy and play, but he’s also figuring out how to unwind and decompress with ease in his crate.
When it comes to walk time, Sammy is a pro on his leash. Until recently, he’s not had the opportunity to get into a daily routine, so he’s still adjusting to his outside business schedule. Sammy may still need a little TLC and a daily plan to get fully housebroken in a new environment. He’s a quick learner, though, and he’s adapting easily to a structured day with his foster family and friends.
Sammy prefers gentle introductions – maybe a couple – to new friends, whether people or pups. He’s a wonderful playmate and is learning how to take a hint from new friends to know what style of play different dogs prefer. He’s loves squeaky toys (maybe a bit too much) and does especially well in a fenced yard to define his play area and give him structure. He’s definitely a huge fan of love and affection from those he loves and trusts, and cuddles with all his friends like a champ.
