Meet Sam: The Ultimate Underdog
America loves an underdog, and Sam is a perfect example! This 4 year-old, playful boy has faced many challenges in his life, yet he keeps a smile on his face and a positive attitude.
Found in Grand Prairie roaming with other dogs, Sam had a dog food container lid stuck around his neck. Once at the shelter, he tested positive for heartworm, had an ear infection, dog bite wounds, and even suffered from being shot with a pellet gun. Thankfully, a caring community came together to save him from euthanasia.
Despite his rough past, Sam is all about joy-waggling his tail, seeking cuddles, and enjoying his walks.
Sam’s DPA foster parents report that he gets along well with dogs and cats, as he lives with quite a few other furrrriends! He walks well on a leash and is doing well in his crate.
This medium-sized mixed breed loves treats like chicken jerky from Wiggles and Wags. He may be shy at first, but once he trusts you, he turns on the charm and isn’t shy about expressing himself!
