Meet Rosie X (New Digs)!

Have you been feeling like there’s a house-hippo sized hole in your life? Well look no further, because here’s Rosie , a grade-a hippo girl/potato! Rosie is a 1.5yr old 72lb purebred American Bully, she is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all her vaccines. She’s been living with a family since she was a puppy, but they are unfortunately needing to find Rosie a new home that is better suited for her. Rosie is a total ham, and would love to be the center of attention!

Rosie loves to go outside with her humans and explore the world around her. She’s mostly a pretty laid back house hippo who seeks pets and snuggles, but she will definitely get the zoomies and zip around when the mood strikes! She lives with three cats, her brother, and a small human brother, along with two adult humans as well of course. She does well with everyone in the home, but would be best suited with children who are at least 10 due to her strength. Now, she does get excited when a kitty zooms past, so if she were to go to a home with cats, it’d be best to ensure a supervised and possibly slow introduction. Rosie has nipped the small human, not out of aggression, but when playing, as she sees him as an equal or less than. She was the runt of her litter as well, so when she was a puppy she exhibited some resource guarding, but has done well in recent times. Ms Rosie does need some more training, so she needs someone/a family who has the time to dedicate to doing this for her. She would also really benefit from slow socialization as she really REALLY wants to be friends with everyone, but gets excited and nervous at the same time. She’s a sensitive girl, and this needs to be understood to help her thrive. Rosie is the type of dog that would literally cuddle inside of your body if she could!

Rosie is crate and leash trained, housebroken, and knows her basic sit command. She will flourish into a beautiful family member with consistent training. Now, there are a couple things that potential adopters need to know! She has environmental allergies and possibly food allergies, and didn’t win the genetic lottery with her knees. So financial responsibility is a must for Miss Rosie’s future human(s). She is taking apoquel & her current vet noted she has luxating patellas. Also, her and her brother have a very intense case of littermate syndrome, making things difficult in terms of managing their manners. On top of that, two of the three cats in the home have urinary issues! Rosie just wanted to make sure you all knew it’s not her fault for needing a different home and seeking peace.

So to wrap it up, Rosie is a true blue house-hippo seeking a loving new home who will give her endless attention and structure, and be able to support her through her health ups and downs. She’ll steal your heart faster than a greased pig! She’s got a beautiful personality, she’s just looking for her soulmate human/family to help her blossom like the beautiful rose she is! Please apply to adopt Rosie now to have your very own special hippo baby.
