Meet sweet Mattie! The most stunning Great Pyrenees/Australian shepherd mix, Mattie is a gentle beauty who was rescued as a stray puppy from the shelter and spent the last year discovering that her favorite napping spot is a cozy blanket on the couch. A three year old pocket Pyrenees at 66 pounds, her soft snowy coat is the perfect snuggle buddy year round. Up to date on all vaccines, spayed and microchipped, she’s healthy as can be and just needs a good brush to keep her coat looking fresh and clean.
Mattie is a goofy girl who loves to spend afternoons rolling in the grass and playing with her toys. Truly an independent queen, she’ll make you laugh when she throws her soccer ball for herself or put herself to bed! She goes ham for a walk and spends the majority of her walk time sniffing ALL the good spots of grass so a mile just about wears her out. Mattie prefers to have her people close by for the occasional head rub so she feels safe. She would thrive with a family who’s home a lot during the day or works from home as she can get a little lonely. Loves to play with other dogs at daycare or the dog park but prefers not to share her food so she’s happiest at home as the solo fur child. We haven’t spent a lot of time with kids, but she should be a good girl with proper introduction and treatment as she is gentle and medium energy.
This princess has worked so hard to be the perfect girl and is loved by everyone she meets. She lives up to the independent, protective and occasionally stubborn nature of the Great Pyrenees, who is content to follow her people around and always be an arms distance away. After being rescued from the shelter by a busy night shift nurse in grad school, Mattie quickly became the best girl but missed her mom and felt a little lonely. Her forever family is still out there, where she can be loved and cared for the way she deserves. Mattie is housebroken, has been crate-trained before but is perfect roaming the house as she prefers to lounge on her bed and doesn’t counter-surf or get into trouble. She walks well on the leash but loves to say hi to squirrels!
