Meet Izzy (or Isabelle as we call her when she wants to be a front seat princess). She is an approximately 4 year old, 69 lb., pit bull/boxer mix. We rescued Izzy in March of 2023 from a local animal shelter. They had found her on the side of the road. Izzy was terrified of cars driving down our street as a result of her previous life and now today her biggest joy in life is to load up in a vehicle and hit the streets. She doesn’t even care if the sole purpose is to drive around the block. Izzy is up date on all her vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped.
Izzy is the queen of napping and cuddling. If she could spend her whole day laying right next to you with her head on your shoulder then she would do exactly that! She loves slower paced walks and taking in all the smells and sounds. Her eyes will light up and she will jump with joy if you ask if she wants to “load up” and get in the car. She loves to splash in the waves at the shore of our lake and lying in the sunshine to relax. Her demeanor is very calm and she enjoys a slower and quieter lifestyle. While it might take Izzy a couple of times to warm up to new people, she has no problems letting you in her circle once she knows you including children. Izzy has let us know that she prefers to be the only pet in the household. We know that she will thrive in a single pet household.
As much as Izzy loves to cuddle, she also has a love for her crate. She is fully crate trained and likes to sleep in there probably more than she likes to sleep in a human bed. She is fully house trained and moderately leash trained. Izzy is not reactive to people or dogs on walks but bunny rabbits are a different story and she can pull on the leash at times when she sees one. Izzy knows sit, here, down, and we use no ma’am to correct any bad behavior.
