Meet Fia (New Digs)!

Fia came to us about two years ago at the apartment we were living in at the time. She was stray and we had fed her a few times, then one day she showed up with five little kittens, only about 3 weeks old. We made a little shelter for her and her babies, and they grew up on our porch. Unfortunately we lost a kitten to a dog attack. We were able to get Fia and the remaining four spayed and found good homes for the kittens! However it’s a little harder for an adult cat. I tried hard to find her a home, since she was so sweet and gentle. We were moving that very month and I didn’t want to abandon her at the apartment complex.

I would have liked to take her inside, but it wasn’t a viable option as we already have two cats that barely tolerate each other. One of which is a senior who will pee on everything when she is upset! But we ended up bringing her with us to our new place in the suburbs. She never wanders far, she’s usually found on the porch. Although Fia is a bit timid, she’s always happy to see us, and is pretty chatty once she’s comfortable! She always runs up to greet me when I come home from work, and likes to sit in my lap when I’m on the porch.

I think Fia can be a wonderful companion cat. She has never shown a hint of aggression, even when she was scared as we took her to the vet. She loves pets and she’ll tap you with her paw when she wants more. She is very polite, and the times I have had her inside she didn’t have a problem using the litterbox. When comfortable Fia is a pretty relaxed cat and is happy to simply sit in your presence, however she does have a playful side! This cat has love to give and deserves a good home, where she doesn’t have to stay outside.

Fia does not seem to exhibit aggression towards other cats, so a multi cat home may be fine for her. But since she is a bit timid, she may not adjust well to dogs.
