Chance “The Dapper” is a lovable, gentle giant. While capable of displays of high energy, he is mostly content sitting with his humans. He loves to be brushed and have his ears and head rubbed. He will often ask for you to hold his paw and loves words of praise. He interacts well with our other two doges — mostly preferring to do his own thing. He greets us with a tail wag and has quickly become a part of our family.
Although identified as a stray, he came to us understanding basic commands, and his leash manners are very good. He does have a loud bark, but the only times we have heard it has been when he was hearing food prepared or when first left in the kennel, but only for a brief time as he tends to settle down quickly.
He has been recovering from heartworm treatment and on medication and we have had no trouble giving him his pills or taking him on his vet visits.
Chance is smart, kind, and a really great dog. We could see him thriving in many different family situations.
