Meet the resilient goofball Boaz (he loves being called Bobo, actually). He is a sweet-natured, scruffy-eared approximately 7-year-old, 50-lb German/Dutch Shepherd mix, with a heart as big as his smile and one adorably floppy ear. Boaz was rescued from a tough situation and adopted out of the shelter system, where he was battling heartworms (currently being treated) and neglect. But don’t let his past fool you — this boy is all about moving forward with a tail wag and a belly ready for rubs.
Boaz is a gentle, calm pup who loves to adventure with you on car rides, lounge around the house, and flash his signature goofy grin when you talk to him (and with the most adorable head tilts). He currently lives with his canine senior sister and gets along just fine with other respectful dogs and small children. He’s still learning the ropes of playing, but he’s super polite, quiet, and appreciates his space — a total gentleman. Boaz likes to cuddle up with his humans and will happily snooze next to you while you work, relax, or binge your favorite show.
An ideal home for Boaz would be one with a calm environment, plenty of soft beds or blankets, and a person or family who’ll appreciate the quiet loyalty of a once-in-a-lifetime kind of dog – all he wants is to be loved.
Boaz is crate trained, leash trained, and fully house trained. He’s working on building confidence with new experiences and already responds well to routines and structure. He’s food and love motivated and would probably do anything for a slice of cheese or a kiss on his snout. He rides very well in the car, doesn’t bark much (hasn’t barked once since I’ve had him), and will give you the softest puppy eyes when he wants affection.
This one-in-a-million pup is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you? Apply to adopt Boaz today!
