What is your current role?
I’m an adoption counselor with Dallas Pets Alive! I review applications from potential adopters, connect potential adopters with fosters, interface with the medical team, and provide support throughout the process. After the meet and greet when everybody agrees we have found the right FURever home, I send the contracts and finalize the adoptions!
How did you get involved with volunteering at DPA?
After graduating college, I started a career that requires weekly travel. Despite spending a lot of my time away from Dallas, I wanted to find a way to stay connected and give back to the Dallas community. As an animal lover, I did a little bit of research, found DPA, and the rest is history! I’ve been volunteering with DPA for 6 years and feel privileged to work with such a passionate team.
What are you most passionate about at DPA?
I love helping animals find the perfect loving homes and working with the eager adopters. Supporting an excited adopter through the journey to find their next furry friend is both energizing and rewarding.
What are some words of wisdom to new DPA Volunteers?
Every little bit helps! Regardless of how much or how little time you’re able to devote, every little bit helps us achieve our mission.
Give us a fun fact about you!
I play the oboe and have done so for about 20 years!
