We all know a pet isn’t just a pet. Each pet is someone’s family member. Unfortunately, too many people face the heartbreaking reality of needing to surrender a pet to a shelter because of life’s inevitable challenges.
That’s where DPA has stepped in with partners like CUDDLY and other local nonprofits to help. September 9th, we will participate in the 5th DFW Pets Are Family Event.
Typically, as volunteers arrive before sunrise to set up, a line of cars has already formed. Pet families make their way to the event early to ensure their pets get what they need. By mid-morning, the line of cars stretches more than a mile down the road, and even when the wait for food and vaccines could last more than an hour, car after car flags volunteers down just to say thank you – and to show off some of the cutest pets we’ve ever seen!
This year alone, the event has provided more than 30,000 pounds of food and almost 2,700 pets received free vaccines and microchips!
While CUDDLY is donating all the pet food for September 9th’s DFW Pets Are Family event, please consider donating an item from our CUDDLY wishlist so we can continue providing resources to families and their pets, every day. A single bag of food can help keep a pet in their home for another month and can give a family the lifeline they so desperately need. You can be the difference a pet family needs!
