Hi, I’m Bobby! I don’t have a tail, so I’m aptly named, and I live in a cage for more than 22 hours a day. I was brought to a veterinary clinic several months ago to have my broken tail amputated. I was a housecat in a past life, but I understand that it’s hard for me to live like that because I’m somewhat incontinent. But I’m getting better. I know what my litter box is for but my body doesn’t always cooperate.
My mommy, who works at the clinic, says that the nerves that control my elimination can take two years to regenerate, so I may become normal again. In fact, yesterday, Mommy was pleased to find my litter box filled with clumps of urine. There was none in the rest of my cage, so it would seem that I am on the road to recovery. Otherwise, I’m a very healthy kitty.
I’m a 3-year-old (about) short-haired gray tabby with expressive green eyes. I weigh 14.5 pounds, so I’m a big kitty. I am current on my vaccinations, neutered, and will be microchipped before I go to my new home. I do well with other cats and dogs. I can’t say how I am with small kids because I haven’t been around any recently. But a young lady about 13 years old met me and we got along well. My mommy would want to make sure small kids were respectful and interactions were monitored.
I love to sit on my mommy’s lap or lie on the floor while she pets me. I like belly rubs, too. We play with my favorite toy, the Cat Dancer, every morning, and on weekends, in the evening as well.
I can’t live in a cage for the rest of my life, so the clinic wants a new home for me. The elderly lady who brought me to the clinic couldn’t take me back because she could barely walk. I need a safe place outside, with some indoor privileges, where I can get loving attention and playtime.
I come when I hear my name, especially if I hear a can being opened. It’s dinnertime!
