What is Onigiri?
Def 1 : “Onigiri is a Japanese rice ball… typically wrapped in nori (seaweed) and shaped… It is a popular snack or meal in Japan… The name “onigiri” comes from the Japanese word nigiru, which means “to grasp” or “to squeeze”.
Def 2 : A sweet little snack of a kitty that you will definitely want to ‘grasp’ and ‘squeeze’ (kindly) for a cuddle.
This little girl may not be a literal rice ball, but she is a literal ball of love and happiness wrapped in play seriousness. What do we mean? Oni does love to play (with other cats, crinkle balls, bell toys, all the fun stuff!) and she does love to cuddle, she loves to be with her people, but if one tries to cuddle in the middle of playing? She will tell you all about it. She will growl-meow-talk and tell you about how serious play time is and that it is not to be interrupted no matter how important you (think you) are. This isn’t to say she plays *all* the time. She is pretty well balanced and has her need for cat naps, meals, snacks, and human affection.
Why not grab some lunch with Oni? I hear the DPA Adoption Container is close to an eatery.
Onigiri is available for pre-adopt only at this time as he/she is not old enough to move to a forever home, but applications can still be completed. Applications for pre-adopt are processed in the order they are received.
