DPA’s Cat of the Month – April: Meet Pru

Our April Cat of the Month is a delightful little calico cat named Pru. According to ancient Japanese folklore, calico cats were believed to guide fishermen safely through storms. Pru has never been a good luck charm on a Japanese fishing boat, but we do know that she’s a wonderful feline companion and that her resilient spirit has helped her through some rough storms of her own.

About Pru:

Pru is young, just three years old. She’s a Domestic Short Hair/Mixed (short coat). Check out the photos and you’ll see that she’s a very pretty, photogenic girl! Her bright green eyes stand out against her white, tan and gray calico patches. Pru’s foster mom says she’s a smart cat, too. We know she will be a great pet for someone.

Pru’s Beginnings:

Pru and her sisters were a litter of kittens living outside in a feral colony when Dallas Pets Alive’s Trap, Neuter & Release (TNR) team found them. They were too young to release back in the wild, so a wonderful foster stepped up to the plate to take care of them while they waited for their furrever homes.

Adopt Pru:

She is trying to gain trust in people and is a bit hesitant because of her rough start in life, however with the right care and some time, we know she will do just fine. Pru gets along well with other animals and is in good health.

With the help of the kind folks at Dallas Pets Alive, Pru is looking to find a permanent home. Are you a patient cat lover? Do you have a quiet home that could welcome this special kitty and give her the permanent family she deserves? Pru needs a chance at a fur-ever home. Maybe it’s with you!

For April only, Pru’s adoption fee is $50 (50% discount). Apply to adopt Pru today!
