Here’s a secret about Nia: treats are her secret love language. This sweet and gentle girl may have spent her first four years just getting by with her siblings, but she’s quickly showing what a wonderful home companion she is. With a few treats to encourage her, food puzzles, walking on her leash, or welcoming new faces becomes her favorite activity.
She’s playful with other pups, but her activity level is being managed as she heals from past injuries. She’s grown braver under the care of her foster family now and is super cuddly, great with strangers, and shows her delight with kisses and her happy, wagging tail. Nia has spent a lot of time with kids ranging age 0-13 and is super sweet to them but kids chasing her does frighten her so she’s a good fit for calmer children. But even when she gets frightened, Nia won’t growl but will run away instead, showing how precious she is and what a lovely bundle of happiness she is for those around her. She loves humans and while she might be a bit skittish when she first meets you, it won’t be long till she follows you throughout the house.
Four-year-old Nia, a predominantly boxer mix, has an lovely brindle coat, but it is her personality that really endears her to people. She’s still working on gaining some needed weight and letting her knees heal and get stronger. She’s cool with her crate and car, and just wants to find a caring, consistent home where she can spend the rest of her wonderful life.
