Meet the loving Lyla! She is a two-year-old American Staffordshire and weighs 47 lbs. Lyla becomes your best friend very quickly as she loves people and desires to show affection.
We adopted her from a rescue center a little over a year ago. We had lost our dog to old age and were desiring to fill that void. Lyla had been found in a field covered with fleas and underweight, yet the rescue center said she was extremely affectionate the first time they met her. It was her tender eyes that caught our attention first. You could just tell she needed a good, loving home. When we visited the rescue center, she came right up and sat in front of us waiting to see if we were the ones. I think she chose us and we immediately knew she was the one.
Lyla is a gentle, kind girl who loves to sit at your feet, lay in your lap, or go outside and play. Most of all, she just enjoys being part of the family. If you allow your dog to sleep with you, Lyla not only likes to cuddle and will even share a pillow if you let her. She loves getting new toys and playing fetch and tug of war the most. Lyla is a very happy pup who will run around the backyard as fast as she can enjoying life.
An ideal home for Lyla would be an adult or couple who easily and readily gives affection, and has time and energy to play with her. However, we don’t recommend having other animals or children. We’ve only had her around other animals one time but she seemed to be a little stressed and more aggressive than we liked.
Lyla has been the most gentle, loving, tender dog we’ve ever had. We are absolutely heartbroken that we need to rehome her. We have lots of grandchildren and for the past year, she has been their joy and love to play with. However, a couple of weeks ago out of the blue, for some reason, she snapped at our four-year-old grandson and caught the top of his eyebrow requiring a couple of stitches. Lyla immediately backed away and seemed as surprised as everyone else. We were in shock because of her gentle, loving, and kind nature. Unfortunately, our grandchildren feel uncomfortable around her which is the ONLY reason we are rehoming her to someone who will give her the love and attention she deserves.
This wonderful, loving pup is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you? Apply to adopt LYLA today!
