Meet Bailey II!

Hi, I'm Bailey... AKA Freckles!

I'm a 60lb lab mix who was rescued from the mean streets of Dallas. I couldn't have been more excited when I left the shelter... no really, my foster mom and dad said they've never seen a tail wag harder! They didn't know this at the time but I LOVE to wag my tail. If you look at me, I wag it. If you say my name, I wag it. If you smile at me, I wag it. If I had to guess, my doggo love language would be tail wagging.

Anyways, enough about my tail and more about the rest of me. Not to brag or anything, but I'm extremely adorable... I'd say my best physical features are my freckled ears (hence the nickname) and golden eyes. But if we're being less shallow, I'd say that my contagious smile, playfulness, and my eager to please attitude are my best features. Oh, I should throw potty trained in there, too. While we're on the topic of what I'm good at... I'll go ahead and tell you that I even know some commands... but the problem is, I just get so excited that sometimes it takes me a second to stop wiggling my bottom to actually sit! How can you blame me when there's a treat in my face!? Speaking of treats... I. Love. Bones. They are my FAVORITE. I could chew on those babies for hours.

When I'm not chewing on bones or loving on you, I really enjoy going on walks and runs to get all my energy out! I may be at the wise ol' age of four years old but I still have a little bit of that puppy energy left in me. So if you like to do that.. or even like to just play fetch (yes, I'm good at that also) then you'll love having me around! After playing, I like to take nice little naps... whether it be in my comfy kennel or plopped down on the floor. I don't discriminate on napping locations.

When I'm napping I'm usually dreaming of my furever home. It usually includes a yard for me to roam or play fetch in, no other pets (I'm what you humans would describe as a "people person"), and an owner that's ready for a new best friend. I've never really been around kids but I LOVE humans so I don't think a tiny human would be any different.

Now I like to picture myself as an honest dog so I'm going to be upfront with you about being heartworm positive. I'm starting on my medications and will be better than ever when I'm done! The great news is that everyone says it's not a big deal, I can still be adopted, AND that Dallas Pets Alive will pay for the treatment! How amazing, right!?

If you're interested in making my dreams come true... all you've got to do is file an application and speak to a Dallas Pets Alive adoption counselor!

Can't wait to meet you and give you one of my famous hugs!
